Rehder Block

A striking feature in the heart of downtown, the locally-manufactured brick and locallyquarried sandstone business block, representative of the commercial development of a Colorado frontier town, was completed by the First National Bank in 1905 and became the second location of Steamboat Springs’ third banking institution. In 2004, Helen
Rehder bequeathed the entire landmark building to the City of Steamboat Springs with
the stipulation that it be preserved as an art museum honoring Routt County settlers
and artists
